An artist and architect from Sicily — driven by curiosity, raw material, and the belief that architecture should ask "What is possible?" rather than "What is profitable?"
Alexandro Rossi moved from Catania to Vienna at 19 to study architecture at the Technical University, where the city opened him to the visual arts and the Viennese creative community. After an apprenticeship at the world-renowned Coop Himmelb(l)au, he went on to work with BEHF, Kronaus-Mitterer, and PR-Architects before founding his own practice.
The studio brings together talented creatives from around the world to craft meaningful, sustainable architectural solutions. Inspired by Austria's landscapes and Italian traditions, the approach is rooted in the understanding that we are part of nature — striving to create a harmonious balance between the built and natural environments.
Alongside architecture, Alexandro pursues painting, photography, and fashion design as bridges between ancient tradition and modern elegance. His work embodies digital technologies through new design processes and the oldest of manufacturing techniques.
The new practice of general practitioner Dr. David Bergenz in St. Veit in der Südsteiermark opened its doors in January 2023, following a construction period of just under one year. The project — designed and planned by Alexandro Rossi & Partners Architects — delivers a barrier-free medical facility with a generous waiting area, two treatment rooms, and a dedicated laboratory. Particular attention was paid to maximising natural light and creating a welcoming, patient-friendly atmosphere. The building also provides significantly more parking than the previous practice. The project was completed on schedule to the full satisfaction of the Bergenz family and their team.
